THE CHOCOLATE DOG BLOG: A chunky chocolate challenge

A chunky chocolate challenge

On March 20th Bosco was told by the vet that he should trim down a bit. So this is progress of sorts of how he is doing. Keep in mind that the scales are not 100% accurate since dogs are always sitting different or fidgeting on the scale. Bosco was given the goal of getting down to 85lbs. MARCH 20: Bosco weighed in at 99lbs. MARCH 29: Bosco weighed in at 92lbs

Our older dog - Smokey - is the one on the diet. Not that it's making any appreciable difference. Smokey considers himself retired (he's earned it) so he runs a lot less, and sleeps a lot more. He has also developed a huge case of munchie-itis. I swear he has memorized every 'cute dog' trick in the book - hell; he could write that damn book while he was at it! Good Luck with Bosco. He's a young dog, so losing weight should be relatively easy.

My sister, Dakota (a black lab/golden mix), is on a diet, too. She has gone from 101 lbs. to 85 lbs. so far. The vet says she could still lose more. She suggested we try swimming.

Sounds like Bosco is doing great! Congratulations! Half-way there!

Woohoo! Go Bosco!

Hey Bosco,

Keep up the good work. I went to the dog doctor this week and somewhere I found two pounds that I shouldn't have found. So now I get fewer treats, a itty bitty bit less REAL food, more walks and more tummy rubs. Arf! Arf! We have got to keep trim, just like our humans.

Good luck!

Woof!
